Engaging Men for Equality & Safer Communities

Jagori Rural Charitable Trust organized a three-day workshop for 25 community members from Chamba and Kangra, facilitated by Mr. Praveen from MAVA (Men Against Violence and Abuse), Mumbai. Through interactive games, group activities, short films, and open discussions, participants explored key topics such as sex and gender, equality, transgender and intersex identities, sexuality, consent, and how society shapes masculinity. A special focus was placed on understanding what it means to be a “mard” and how healthier expressions of masculinity can help build respectful and violence-free families. Participants stayed engaged throughout the sessions, shared openly, and reflected on how they can support equality within their homes and communities.
