Building Strength at the Grassroots

For three impactful days, community volunteers from Niyangal and Boh villages in Kangra district (Himachal Pradesh) came together to strengthen local disaster preparedness through the Rural Resilience Trainer (RRT) – Technical Training on Hazard Response and First Response.

The training focused on identifying local hazards, understanding disaster risks, and developing life-saving first response skills. Through hands-on learning and participatory sessions, volunteers enhanced their capacity to respond effectively during emergencies and support their communities in times of crisis.

This initiative emphasized community-led resilience, preparedness, and collective action, reinforcing the vital role of local volunteers in disaster response and recovery.

Proudly organised by Jagori Rural Charitable Trust, the training empowers villages to respond, recover, and rise together, building safer and more resilient rural communities.
