Jagori Rural Trust is looking for a dynamic, result-oriented woman Associate Programme Director.

 

Jagori Rural (JR) has been working actively in Himachal Pradesh since 2002 on issues of adolescent and women’s empowerment, leadership building, health rights and entitlements, safety from violence against girls and women, organic agriculture, and various national and international campaigns. Jagori’s mission is to create a just and equal society for all. Jagori helps address discrimination on gender, caste, religion, disability, and sexual identities by spreading feminist consciousness, encourage and strengthening the voices of women and girls and ensuring their right to life, dignity and safety. Jagori works with rural communities in nearly 150 villages of 3 districts of Himachal Pradesh including Kangra, Chamba and Sirmaur.

 

Job Summary: The Associate Director will:

  • Lead and provide technical guidance for project and programmes, strategies and approaches;

  • Manage internal systems and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of all programmes to deliver well planned, coordinated, timely, high quality and impactful results;

  • Coordinate with the programme and project teams to ensure synergy and integration as per the organization’s strategy;

  • Strengthen a high-performance team through building capacities, providing direction and critical feedback to develop clear, strategic programmes to deliver strategy;

  • Lead and manage the team effectively within the performance management framework;

  • Deliver organizational strategic objectives, as assigned, including alignment of programmes and projects;

  • Work closely with the Executive Director in effectively contributing to programme development and project proposals, strategic funding issues and developing donor plans;

  • Undertake any other tasks mutually agreed with the Executive Director.

 

Skills and Competencies

  • Post-graduate Degree or above in Social Sciences, Women’s/ Gender Studies or equivalent.

  • Minimum 10-15 years of senior management experience.

  • Command of English and Hindi is essential.

  • She must have a strong feminist and human rights perspective, ability to build partnerships and networking with state and non-state stakeholders.

  • Deep understanding of community engagement.

 

Other: Remuneration according to experience.

Senior Team Co-Coordinator – Aware Girls Action For Justice (AGAJ) Program

Position: senior Team Co-Coordinator – Aware Girls Action for Justice Program (AGAJ)

Looking for a dynamic, committed person with leadership qualities to lead a team working with Adolescent girls for building them as entitled, equal citizen.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the entire program and implement all its projected activities including trainings, workshops, campaigns and fairs, community events and regular village and cluster level meetings in consultation with the block team and senior team leaders.

  • Prepare modules, learning material, multi-media documents related to different aspects of the program for conducting all activities

  • Monitor expected outcome and output, build data base and MIS of the AGAJ program on a regular basis.

  • Plan and organize advocacy and awareness campaigns.

  • Plan and implement advance training of Peer leaders from among the adolescent girls.

  • Network with various stakeholders including government departments, educational institutions, PRIs, NGOs.

  • Prepare and submit quarterly, six monthly progress reports and annual report along with success stories and expected outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Gender studies, Social Work, Sociology or a related field

  • Knowledge and experience of working on gender and social justice and engagement with the adolescent girls empowerment

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with women’s organizations, networks and/or social movements

  • Strong writing skills in English and Hindi - Strong skills in MS Word, Excel, Internet and email application

Remuneration: Salary will commensurate with experience of the candidate.

Associate OBR Coordinator

One Billion Rising Campaign - 2024

Jagori Rural is looking for a young woman/trans person as Associate OBR coordinator for the International One Billion Rising Campaign.

The person should have commitment to the issues of Violence against women and girls and all other forms of exploitation. The position primarily requires multimedia communication, designing and documentation skills, networking and follow up with partner organizations. The selected candidate will work with the India OBR Campaign Coordinator at the OBR Secretariat at Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, India.

Consolidated monthly honorarium is in accordance to the work experience.

Since social media, communication and creative designing is the core requirement, only those with such skills and commitment to gender justice should apply.

Job description:

  • Maintain communication, alliances and building a national communication strategy and system.

  • Build and maintain a data base of partner organizations for the OBR national campaign

  • Provide support to the coordinator wherever needed.

  • Maintain reports and archives of each activity and maintain a data base of events and qualitative and quantitative data attended.

  • Production of the OBR related multimedia material, including newsletter, banners, posters, radio program, films etc. and ensuring distribution of campaign material as the requirements of the states.

  • Regular sharing of reports with National Coordinator located at Sidhbari Rakkar.

  • Network with NGOs, media, Colleges and other educational institutions and Government departments

  • Submit monthly narrative reports.

Vacancy for a Cluster Supervisor at Jagori Rural Charitable Trust, Dharamshala

 

Jagori Rural Charitable Trust –JRCT is looking for a cluster supervisor, a fulltime position, with a strong women’s rights perspective for the community intervention-based work with various collectives, youth, Panchayat representatives and farmers on the issue of livelihood, accountable governance, organic farming, rights and entitlements and elimination of violence against women.

Expected roles and responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate and implement the program as per the instructions of Associate Project Coordinator.

  • Formation of Women, Farmers and Youth Collectives in the Blocks.  

  • Maintain MIS and database of the activities, follow-ups and targets groups as per the format.

  • Attend Block level meeting conducted by Associate Project Coordinator once a fortnight and maintain regular documentation of the same.

  • Submit monthly and quarterly reports along with outcomes, community voices, photos, case studies and success stories to the Associate Project Coordinator.

  • Work in selected villages of 5 Panchayats of the designated block in order to identify community problems and collaborate with Panchayats to address and resolve the community grievances.

  • Conduct regular meetings with Pradhans and Panchayat members and maintain a regular report of the same.

  • Strengthen networks with government departments and various other stakeholders.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience of working with a women’s organization.  

  • Computer knowledge.

  • Minimum two years commitment.

Salary: Salary will commensurate with experience of the candidate.
